What's a Frenchton??? A frenchton is a mix of Boston Terrier & French Bull-dog. Speaking from decades of experience, I can truly say that its an amazing breed of dog that has both qualities of the french bulldog & Boston Terrier. Best of both worlds!!
Well, what's the difference between the two? To be honest, it's all a matter of preference, there is not much difference at all in appearance. Both are truly amazing, loyal, very loving, playful, athletic, very affectionate dogs. The Frenchton body type tends to be a lil less stocky than a pure bred french-bulldog, and because they tend to have less of the signature French Bulldog "snub-nose", they tend to do better in extreme heat or cold, unlike its french bulldog counterpart.
Do they look the same?? Who's cuter??? Here at Winters French Bulldogs, I pride myself in cute cute cute cute cute faces!!!! So, again it's all a matter of preference. The purebred french bulldog is generally known to be a bit more wide in stature and more wrinkle faced! LOL
The Frenchton is generally just a little smaller with less wrinkles!! It's totally up for debate on who's the cutest!!!!! : )
What should I feed them and how often? These dogs loveeeee to eat!! They will never say no to food!!! So depending on the size that you wan't your dog to be, you should feed accordingly. To prevent worms and parasites, I personally add carrots, pumpkin, and coconut oil to their dry food. I add apple cider vinegar to their water to prevent fleas.
Can I take my dog on long hikes with me ? French Bulldogs are" snub" nosed, therefore breathing issues naturally comes with the territory I would recommend any highly physical activity to be carefully monitored, especially on hot days. Since the nose of a Frenchton is not so snubbed, it tends to breath easier then the pure bred French Bulldog.
